"It will be a great time anyway," commented Katie Ryding. "Our approach is that attitude."

"Naturally, it's a let-down we aren't fighting for more, but we have invested a significant amount already."

"We'll enjoy celebrating the holidays out there. It is also mine and Rory's first time away from home over Christmas."

A teacher, Katie is determined to make the most of the lengthy journey as part of her time off.

"If all else fails, I've got golf to rely on," Katie concluded.
