Iranian Forces State Strike on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, Amid Regional Military Operations.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as Iran launched operations across the region in retaliation for a large-scale and ongoing assault against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an vicinity close to the main base of the American Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The full scale of any impact is unclear and the US has not commented.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - each hosting American military installations - said they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their air space.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on Iran carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That initial attack - executed at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far struck areas linked to the Iranian leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the Iranian people to rise up against the government.
Regional Fallout
In the State of Israel, air raid sirens sounded nationwide after the Israeli military reported it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The defence ministry of the UAE said in a statement that the country has been targeted by a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems responded to the projectiles with high efficiency and destroyed a number of missiles," it added.
The statement noted wreckage fell on a residential area in the capital, resulting in some property damage and killing a civilian.
The US Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
