The goalkeeper Had little to do to perform before the break but then tested by Arbër Hoxha’s bent shot. His sliding challenge against an Albanian attacker demonstrated his anticipation. 6/10

Jarell Quansah Challenged against the opposition's main danger in Hoxha. Started more centrally early on then shifted out wide once Saka came on. 7

The defender Pushed up the pitch with the ball at his feet, as he has done before. Sometimes was too casual when carrying play with the experiment abandoned at half-time. Six

The tall defender Always dangerous from dead balls, per usual, perhaps is an alternative for Stones in defense as opposed to alongside him. A loose ball later in the match nearly resulted in the first goal from Albania. Six

The young full-back Another assured display by the 20-year-old after his first cap versus Serbia. A teammate was unable to take full advantage of an exquisite flick behind their defense. His position is his to lose already. 7/10

Declan Rice Set-pieces from corners and free kicks created chances. Had license to roam on the left but was in an offside position as the pass came with a chance to score. Granted a merited break after an hour. Six

Jude Bellingham Functioned in an advanced spot out wide and put in defensive duties. Showed glimpses of brilliance but mishit a shot over. Substituted in the closing stages for Rogers, his rival, after receiving a caution. 7/10

Jarrod Bowen Was presented with the team's top opening in the opening period, his strike well saved from the opposing goalkeeper. As a teammate staying deep, it fell to him to stretch the play out wide but his crosses from wide areas were hit and miss. Replaced late in the match. 6/10

The captain The difference-maker netting two more goals in an England shirt. The first a typical poacher’s finish and the second a superb headed goal after peeling away off his defender. Aged 32, he continues to improve and England have every chance in the upcoming tournament with him up top. 8

Eberechi Eze Found it tough to get into the game on the left flank. Had a presentable chance after being played in by Bellingham however the keeper made the save. His replacement had a greater an impact when substituted. Five
